Feast for the Ears is returning for the Copenhagen Jazzfestival 2026!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In collaboration with Barefoot Records, Movement Shaped like a Heart & The community, we are excited once again to present great music at R\u00e5huset in Vestebro over the course of 6 days, starting on the 6th of July till 11th of July<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6th of July – Girls Choir<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

girls choir’s music for four voices oscillates between hyper affective and anonymous machine-like. Through weaving the individual voice timbres together in detailed and dense structures, they create a sound world that feels both human and otherworldly. Guided by an underlying sonic story, the singers take us into a cosmos of plopping mouth sounds, mumbled chords and whistling air sounds. References to pop songs, giggles and melodies come and go as ghosts from the past. The compositions are a mix of surprise, surreal moments, and humor, in omnipresence of darkness and a strong bizarre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7th of july – Undercurrent<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Undercurrent is a dynamic ensemble born out of the diverse musical backgrounds of its members, blending influences from their specific cultural heritage with free jazz and improvisation, lyrical storytelling, and experimental textures. Each performance is a reflection of both the members\u2019 individual voices and their shared explorations, opening up the space where music can grow from the band\u2019s dedication to collective creation.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2022, Undercurrent has performed in Denmark and internationally, including in Slovenia, Croatia, Lithuania, Italy and Switzerland, through creative residencies and collaborations with local venues and institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11th of july – Extravaganza trio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Energetic improvising trio coming straight out of the world famous weekly series \u2018Norrebro Jazz Extravaganza\u2019 where people travelled from all corners of Copenhagen to attend, even Amager. The trio will play new music they\u2019ve been working on playing with themes of communication break down, conflict management and an obsession with how to have the worst possible argument and resolve it utterly unfairly. This is likely to be quite a shambolic gig, in the best sense, hopefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three distinctive voices meet for the first time in an open and exploratory musical landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rooted in the European improvised music scene, the trio brings together clarinettist Andreas R\u00f8ysum, pianist Kaja Draksler, and drummer Ivar Asheim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R\u00f8ysum and Asheim have, over several years, developed a close musical relationship through R\u00f8ysum\u2019s own ensemble, while Draksler contributes her extensive experience from her own projects and numerous international collaborations. Together, they create music in the momen; attentive, dynamic, and unpredictable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andreas R\u00f8ysum has been central to the Norwegian free jazz scene in recent years, and has been involved with bands such as Miman, Nakama, his self-titled ensemble, and adventurous collaborations with names such as Mark Sanders, John Edwards, Joshua Abrams, and Hamid Drake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaja Draksler, from Slovenia, has performed internationally across Europe, the USA, and Canada. In addition to her frequent solo concerts, her active projects include her Amsterdam-based Octet, the trio Punkt.Vrt.Plastik, and duets with Terrie Ex, Susana Santos Silva, Marcin Masecki (Draksler\/Bach\/Masecki), and Szymon G\u0105siorek (Czajka & Puchacz).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ivar Asheim, from Norway, has been based in Copenhagen since 2020, where he has made his mark on the scene as a founding member of the artist collective CRRNT Collective. In recent years, he has collaborated extensively with Swiss pianist Margaux Oswald, releasing three trio albums with her, Frode Gjerstad, and Aurelijus Uzameckis. His musical collaborations also include artists such as Lotte Anker, Sten Sandell, and Simon Toldam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
